Where to watch to Olympic opening ceremony this Friday

Don’t have a ticket? No, nor us. But if you want to soak up the Olympic atmosphere here are a few places around Shoreditch and the East End showing the opening ceremony on big screens from 7pm Friday.

The Water Poet

A bit of a Shoreditch institution, this pub has inside and outside space which is welcome during these sweltering times.

Victoria Park

This is a ticketed but free event and the park will be screening all major events including the opening ceremony this Friday. For details see their official website

Ale-ympic Crawl in Newington Green

The Snooty Fox, The Alma, Railway Tavern, The Clarendon and The Cellars will all be showing the ceremony on big screens as well as serving up a range of traditional ales as part of this three day festival.
