Vurger & Co – a vegan burger fix for the masses
What happens when two lactose intolerant meat lovers walk into a vegan fast food joint? They have a food revelation!
With a very naive view that all vegan food was far too healthy to be an indulgent treat, one slurp of the Vurger & Co Oreo milkshake dissipaited these ideologies in an instant. Served with coconut cream atop, the milkshakes are smooth, indulgent and the perfect accompaniment to the flavourful burgers on offer.
Go hungry! The Vurger & Co menu is filling, offering four core burgers with rotating monthly specials and all at the same price (£8.45). Highlights include the stacked high ‘Auburger’ filled with an aubergine, caramelised red onion, Tabasco chipotle chickpea patty, pickled red cabbage, gherkins, tomato, cheese and cumin mayo. Our pick of the day was the ‘Classic’ burger, made up of a delicious bean, red pepper, chick pea and corn patty and loaded with home made burger sauce. A side of skin-on fries and Mac n Cheese completed our foodie revelation in the heart of Shoreditch.
The plant based pioneers began their journey in August 2016 as a market stall, believing in the idea that fast food can be plant powered, delicious and good for your soul. After an extremely successful Crowdfunding campaign in 2017, the company raised £300k in just under 77 hours making them the first London crowdfunded vegan restaurant. The company have gone on to solidify their position in the marketplace as pioneers of the plant powered revolution by opening their 30 cover restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch, open 7 days a week followed by a new site in Canary Warf.
Forget all your pre conceptions about vegan food and go to Vurger & Co with an open mind. Veganism and plant based diets don’t have to be a Veganuary fad or an all or nothing proposition. With a philosophy that includes bio-degradability in all packaging used, help your planet while enjoying your next burger and shake fix, we’re definitely planning our next visit!
