Viva La Vaccine?

With 2020 being the ‘year that never was’ for many, we all are chomping at the bit to get back to normal life. At the beginning of the lockdowns, the masses prayed for a vaccine and BBC News reports that we’ll possibly see an available vaccine for Christmas.

The vaccine has been developed by Pfizer and BioNTech pharmaceutical companies and will be administered in two doses. According to the BBC “The Covid vaccine is the fastest ever vaccine to go from the drawing board to being highly effective.” However, many have concerns about the safety of the vaccine due to its swift development and minimum time spent going through clinical trials. Health Secretary Matt Hancock admits “we just don’t know” how many people need to be vaccinated before life can go back to normal. While the new vaccine is considered good news, Boris Johnson warned that we must still stick to the guidelines as it is still “very, very, early days.”
